Letter from Vice-President Academic

Dear Reader,

If you are new to McGill, Welcome to McGill and have a fun journey ahead! If you are a returning student, Happy to see you back! To ensure that every student has a fair academic journey at McGill, there exist rules and regulations. Professor’s try their best to conduct a course in a fair manner within the regulations, but sometimes these rules are unfortunately overseen unknowingly. Then it lies on us as students to identify those issues and report them. Also there exist some rules which provide students with certain rights and it is upon us to use them. This guide goes through some of the rules that are hard to understand providing a better explanation and also highlighting rules that provide students with certain rights and are good to know.

I hope there are no issues in any of your classes, but sometimes there will be, and I hope this document will help you identify those issues and have them resolved earlier than later. As always, if there is anything you are unsure about or wanted to discuss more, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. I am always here for you for your academic needs, and am always happy to help.

If there is anything in this document that is unclear to you, or if there is something else that you feel should be added, please fill out this feedback form.

Sincerely, Sanjeev Lakhwani
